Polish born, Catharina Luczyk made the journey to Australia as a child. She lived her passion for art for many years without raising a brush, until her brother commissioned a piece for his home. She embraced this opportunity to realise her dream and unlocked her will to learn.
She explored colour, dimension and form and grew hungry for knowledge and technique. Nurtured by her Masters (Sur James Richmond, Andrew Dyer) and inspired by her admiration of Caravaggio, she became engrossed in her work. Catharina explored methods of building form, with contrasts of light and dark and built on her abilities with each piece. With prowess and elegance her talents have matured and she is now at the pinnacle of her artistic freedom.
Eight years on and honoured with the Beta Sigma Phi award, the CAA Inc Art Excellence award, and the Merit award for the ‘Small works Exhibition’ at Brunswick Street Gallery, she was presented with the opportunity of her first Solo exhibition. In 2012 her work was selected to grace the cover of Paul Kelly’s Spring and Fall album which then led to her painting the distinguished artist for the Archibald.
Catharina offers you her life’s exploration of love and passion on canvas.
